Invitation to the Lecture "Falcone and Borsellino: The Importance of Memory"

Palermo, the Sicilian mafia, and two brave judges – it sounds like the plot of an action movie, but it really happened! We invite you to a lecture on how Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino defeated Cosa Nostra. Judge Carlo Marzella and Professor Aldo Schiavello will guide us through the investigation and trial.
Falcone i Borsellino rozmawiają ze sobą

On March 24th, Łazarski University will host investigative judge from Palermo, Dr. Carlo Marzella, and Professor Aldo Schiavello from the University of Palermo. As part of their study visit, the Foreign Language Study and the Faculty of Law and Administration cordially invite you to the lecture "Falcone and Borsellino: The Importance of Memory." It's worth attending because Judge Carlo Marzella is currently leading the largest mafia trials in Palermo and has extensive practical knowledge of such proceedings. Professor Aldo Schiavello specializes in legal philosophy, with interests including human rights.

The meeting will be held in English at 12:30 PM in room 58. The lecture is especially recommended for law students.

The guests of Łazarski University will also participate in a scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Law and Administration on March 26, 2025. Details about the event can be found at: https://www.lazarski.pl/en/node/34285.
