Mr. Paweł Wierdak, is a Diplomat with academic background in international law and rich experience in multilateral diplomacy. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland he was working, among others, as Deputy Director of the United Nations Department. He was also counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Poland to the UN in New York. Currently as Head of the Council of Europe Office in Warsaw he is in charge of liaison with other international organizations or institutions in Warsaw in particular the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR).
<em>The Council of Europe i</em>nternational organisation, based in Strasbourg, which was created in 1949 and now includes 46 European countries. Set up to promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Home to the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights.
The subject of the meeting will be the activities and importance of the Council of Europe as well as information on the possibility of working or doing internships in this institution.
