There are currently 44 European Universities (EUI) and it is estimated that by the end of the year there will be 60 of them. The conference was attended by representatives of all EUI alliances (e.g. RUN-EU, ENGAGE.EU, FORTHEM, CHARM-EU, CIVICA, EPICUR, ARQUS, EUNI WELL, CIRCLE U, UNIC, EUNICE, EUGLOH, EDUC) as well as participants from universities that are now intending to be part of it or those that decided not to participate in this initiative at all.
The following issues were discussed during panel sessions and workshops: the creation of inter-university virtual campuses and Think Tanks, the involvement of various groups (students, business partners, NGOs, the public sector, local communities), the concept of co-creation (publications, courses, supervision of theses, experimental learning environment) as well as micro-credentials in higher education that foster the modularization and individualization of curricula.
