Language requirements of the University

The required level of proficiency in the leading language is B2 after undergraduate studies and B2+ after graduate studies.

Students of the Faculty of Economics and Management completing English classes take the LanguageCert Test of English (LTE) exam or an internal exam.

Students of the Faculty of Law and Administration take international exams TOLES LEGAL or write an internal exam.

At the Faculty of Medicine, each semester ends with a passing grade.

Candidates for studies in Polish or English must demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction at the B2 level.

Candidates with a B1 level in Polish may be admitted if they have very good results in other subjects. They then participate in intensive remedial courses in the first year of study.

The above requirements are in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of November 2, 2011 on the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education.

The School offers a wide range of courses to improve language proficiency and courses to prepare for international exams.

Conditions for passing the course

Presence in class is mandatory. A student is entitled to 2 unexcused absences (for a 60-hour lecture course), 1 for a 30-hour course. To receive credit for the course, the student is required to:

• pass each of the progress tests with a minimum of 60%,
• give and pass all independent written work
• have adequate attendance.

In case of absence from a test or failure to pass it, it is obligatory to make it up or correct the failed test within two weeks (from information about the result) or one month in extramural studies during the lecturer's duty.

The Study of Foreign Languages kindly informs that applications for e-learning credit for overdue classes can be sent via the Virtual University by the deadline of March 25, 2024.

Right to change the group

A first-year student has the right to change the language group within two weeks of the start of classes in full-time studies and after two sessions in part-time studies. The change of group is made in person at the Foreign Language Studio in room number 125. If the two-week deadline is exceeded, the student is required to submit a written application to the Director of the Foreign Language Studio for a change of group. Before submitting the application, the student should receive written approval from the teacher of the current and target group. Applications are considered on an individual basis.

Recognition of TOEIC certificate

Recognition of PTC Academic

From June 18, the Foreign Language Studio accepts another language certificate for college applicants Pearson Test of English Academic ( PTE Academic), which certifies communicative English skills at the academic level.

Recognition of Language Cert LTE

From November 2020, the Foreign Language Study accepts another language certificate for college applicants - Language Cert LTE.
