Maciej Sobczak is the winner of the competition for the best mediation essay!

Mediation should play an increasingly important role in our legal system - this is a conclusion that is clearly obvious based on works submitted to the SJO competition organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Lazarski University Faculty of Law and Administration. The jury was impressed by the accuracy of the arguments and the level of the English language presented by the essay writers.

The commission, composed of Ewelina Gee Milan, Marcin Siemiątkowski and Peter Gee, took into account both the substantive aspects of the work, as well as linguistic correctness and style. The jury selected three winners.  They became:
 1st place Maciej Sobczak
 2nd place: Dagmara Syska
 3rd place: Michał Walak

"Where does mediation come from?", "How is it anchored in Polish law?" - the participants of our competition started their work from these issues. Later, however, it turned out that for everyone different issues are more important. The essays raised the issues of the economic and psychological advantages of mediation, what features should a mediator have, how the importance of mediation in resolving disputes has increased in the past period, has the question been answered why still many Poles do not choose this solution and prefer the traditional lawsuit.
Congratulations to the winners and all participants of the competition. A gift and a commemorative diploma have been prepared for everyone.
