On January 8th and 9th, Clarivate Analytics representing the leading scientific database Web of Science visited Lazarski University and provided participants to get a lot of useful information regardless of the level of expertise. Starting from the basics in the area of publishing such as journal evaluation criteria (there are only 24 when it comes to the quality) and such specific information as the requirement of publishing ethics policy. Also, during the first part experts from the audience raised such questions as how to deal with multiple affiliations of the authors or whether the entire article has to be in English in order to get to Web of Science.

When it comes to the workshop side of the first part of the event, Dr Mila Cahue, who is the Head of the Editorial Outreach of the Web of Science Group, gave publishers an opportunity to make self-evaluation based on the 24 quality criteria together with the 4 impact criteria in order to see what needs to be done in order for the journal to become a part of the Web of Science Core Collection and Impact Factor. The volunteer for that part was the Engineering Transactions Journal that is publishing most up-to-date scientific articles in the area of engineering, including mechanical engineering since the year 1954.

On the second day, two-hour workshop conducted by Dr Klementyna Karlińska-Batres focused on a brief but practical overview of the Web of Science platform. In particular, participants were familiarized with research customization by using filters or use alerts in order to remain up-to date when it comes to specific journals or publications.
