The award is given to projects promoting innovative initiatives in language teaching and learning, recognizes innovative educational techniques and promotes knowledge of methodological and didactic achievements in the field of language education.

The competition is organized by the European Commission, and in Poland since 2002 it has been conducted by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System on behalf of the Ministry of National Education.

The competition committee recognized SJO's activities in the field of language teaching as original, innovative and having a European dimension, and emphasized that our work is an example of good practice worthy of imitation. We met the most important criterion for evaluating projects, i.e. innovation. Innovation in the field of language projects consists in finding means, unavailable in the previous practice of a foreign language teacher, for better development of communicative language competence.

This prestigious award went to the community-education project "World Languages for Neighborhood Children". As part of the project, about 100 children from the university's neighboring blocks of flats and elementary schools during the summer vacation for the 14th time learned foreign languages free of charge through play, movement, dance, mini theater, stories, songs, and art. Participants also took part in environmental workshops, sports, dance, computer classes, yoga workshops, martial arts demonstrations, games and backyard games organized by Lazarski students. At the end of the project, an inclusive family picnic was organized with a presentation of the effects of learning, games and competitions for children developed and conducted by students, and a joint feast with food prepared by children with parents and teachers. The project is implemented by the Study's lecturers and student volunteers working as lecturer assistants and students conducting extra classes, during which they share their passions with the children. During the extra classes, the children also acquire elements of a foreign language in a very natural way and without psychological barriers. During the course of the project, it is continuously reported on www.facebook.com/SJO.Lazarski

We are very happy and promise that the next editions of our project will be even more interesting.

We would like to thank all those who have contributed to the success of the project over the years.
