International Week 2016 will be attended by a host of different lecturers and embassy representatives, below is an introduction to some of them!
Lecturers
Dr. Elena Falleti
Dr. Elena Falleti is a lecturer in Private Comparative Law at Universita Carlo Cattaneo - LIUC, in Italy.
She will be focusing on Digital Do-It-Yourself (DiDIY) fabrication practices and legal challenges.
Ana Yetano
Dr. Ana Yetano is from the University of Zaragoza in Spain, with a focus on public sector matters, and public and private financial and managerial analysis.
The topics she will focus on are Financial statement analysis, the case of INDITEX, and Social Media use by local government.
Prof. Miruna Bablosin
Prof. Miruna Andrea Balosin, is a lecturer in the fields of Lobbyism, European Journalism, and Media Relations, at Universitatea Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, in Romania. Additionally, she has an impressive array of publications to her name.
The topics she will focus on are International Organizations: Distinguishing between Non-Governmental and Intergovernmental Organizations, and The importance of the EU: Transparency Register.
Tamar Gamsakhurdia
Dr. Tamar Gamsakhurdia is a Lecturer and Director of the Bachelor and PhD Programs at the Business Administration School of the School of Business and Management, at Grigol Robakidze University in Georgia. She has over 20 years of teaching experience.
The topics she will focus on are Corporate Finance and Financial Management, Financial Statements, Cash Flow, Time Value of Money, and Investment appraisal.

Workshops for students (13th-14th April)
These workshops will involve joint projects between Coventry University and Lazarski University students, covering the following topics:
- The structure of the Nigerian economy, since 1990.
- The century of inflation with historical interpretations and empirical analysis.
- Discuss the possible influences of the growth and fall of the Chinese economy on the global economy. Black Mondays.
- The Great Plunge in Oil Prices: Causes, Consequences, and Policy Responses. Case study: OPEC countries.
- The influence of low oil prices on the alternative energy sector.
- The Economic Impact of 500+. How will 500+ affect consumption and GDP in the short-run, and the deficit in the long-run?
- Impact of the falling oil prices on the global economy.
- Do low wages really affect economy? How and in what ways (negative or positive) low wages affect American economy?
- The impact of falling oil prices on the employment inside OPEC members? Oil industry.
- Devaluation of currencies in the southern Caucasus.
- Outsourcing and unemployment in US garment industry.
- Consequences of sanctions by targeted country during the 2013-15 Ukrainian crisis.
- Phenomenon of tax havens in the modern economic system.
Students' conference (15th April)
To round off this year's International Week, the students collaborating together on the above projects will present their findings. All students, especially junior level students, are very welcome to join us and participate in the conference!
